Science popularization projects

Modern science has long surpassed close door laboratories. Education system challenges require active involvement of young researchers and inventors in the scientific research, that’s why Ilia State University is one of the leading higher education institutions actively popularizing and supporting science programs. To this end, ISU organized the first open air Science Picnic in Georgia in 2012, which since has turned into an annual event and will be held for the fourth time in 2015. In 2013, the event became member of the European Science Events Association (EUSEA), which brings together 90 member organizations and aims to create a creative platform for the promotion of science and technology.

One of the main goals of Ilia State University since 2014 has been active promotion and support of scientific projects. Subsequent to the third Science Picnic, ISU created a network of Young Explorers Club, within the frameworks of which a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Copernicus Science Centre. As a result, in December 2014 ISU Science Café has been opened and has been successfully operating since.
