On September 30, the 10th-anniversary Science Picnic will be held in the courtyard of Ilia State University (3/5 Cholokashvili Avenue).

The aim of the picnic is to promote science and showcase modern scientific achievements in an engaging and enjoyable manner for visitors of all ages.

The scientists from Ilia State University, along with science outreach groups from Georgia, will offer fascinating experiments, interactive exhibitions, educational programs, and entertainment activities in an open-air setting.

During the first part of the day, the main stage of the event will feature videos and presentations on Science topics, including nitrogen explosions and eruptions. The Embassy of Poland in Georgia will hold a fun quiz and offer short Polish language courses, among other activities.

There will be meetings and lectures about technology and other interesting topics for high school students. We will introduce you to the latest technological achievements at the STEAM playground designed for different age groups. There also will be masterclasses and entertaining science activities for various age ranges.

For those interested in a Science picnic, the Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development Center of Ilia State University is offering a drone workshop.

This year’s Science Picnic continues its support for the United Nations project developed on September 25, 2015, titled, "Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" (More information about the project can be found at the following link:

The Iliauni Science Picnic serves to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 out of 17 which focuses on "Quality Education: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all".

On the main stage, after the conclusion of the Science picnic, we will hold a traditional reward ceremony for the first-year students who have successfully passed the Unified National Examinations. Finally, the welcome party and concert for the first-year students will take place on the main stage.
