ZAZA CHILADZE ANNOUNCED A WINNER OF ILIAUNI LITERARY CONTEST

On May 14, 2015, at Book House Ligamus, Iliauni literary contest winner was named. The jury of Iliauni professors and students selected the translator of the best foreign novel edited in Georgian in 2010-2014. The winner became Zaza Chiladze for his translation “Flags in the Dust” by William Faulkner published by Book House Diogene in 2013.
William Faulkner (1897-1962) is considered as the greatest American writer of the previous century; “Flags in the Dust” is his third novel first published in 1929 under the title Sartoris, in which Faulkner’s ability to create great literary forms was shown.
At the contest, 48 foreign language novels were presented for discussion. The full list is presented here.
