About Mari Burduli
Mari Burduli joined ISU in 2006. For twelve years she successfully led the HR Office, during which time she streamlined HR operations and initiated new processes. She was actively engaged in the development of different structural units and was in charge of the elaboration of HR management policy. The HR Office largely owes its success to her.
During three years, Mari coordinated the Project Peoples undertaken within the frames of ERASMUS+. The reforms carried out under the project brought an important improvement to the HR office.
In recent years, Mari suffered from malignant melanoma. Yet she continued working and was actively engaged in the process of pre-authorization of ISU in 2017.
Mari was a highly considerate person and a strong character. Being a true professional, she was also good at writing, which is attested by collections of her poems.
Mari died on 23 March 2018. A few month before that she published an essay My Thanatos (ჩემი თანატოსი), in which she speaks of her rare disease showing resistance and a strength of character. My Thanatos found great appreciation among literary circles.
By the decision of ISU staff, a year after the death of Mari, a series of career events for students and graduates planned for March was named the Mari Burduli Career Month.
