COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation. From September, 2022 Ilia State University Joins the COST Programme Consortium.

Efficient access to the constantly growing quantities of data, especially of language data, largely relies on advances in data science. This domain includes natural language processing (NLP), which is currently booming, to the benefit of many end users. However, this optimization-based technological progress poses an important challenge:   accounting for and fostering language diversity. (See. https://bit.ly/3NRxLRM).

The first meeting of the steering committee of this project took place on September 23 in Brussels (COST Association, Av. du Boulevard 21 Brussels).

During the meeting, following Issues were discussed:

• Selection of the central governing body of the project and the scientific representative;
• Division making about the key positions, implementing the project;
• Determie the main group of the project  and distribution of responsibilities;
• Discussion of the proposals with the working groups;
• Reconciliation of work schedule and budget plan;
• Discussion the future meeting of  the main management committee;
• Review of other research issues related to the project.
