Project EDUCATIONAL FOR DRONE Consortium Meeting

Ilia State University participates in ERASMUS + project “Educational for Drone (eDRONE), The main objective of the eDrone project is to provide higher education institutions in the Partner Countries with effective and efficient instruments to setup Offices for Education for Drones (OED), for the transferring of all the above mentioned knowledge to professionals of each Partner Country.

Drone Pilot course was held at ISU, where participants were given the opportunity to learn and get a hands-on experience on the following topics:

  • Drone Architecture
  • Drone components
  • Basic principles of aerodynamics
  • Worldwide drone Regulations
  • Image processing and measuring software

The classes also covered civil applications of drones as well as future industry trends. Participants also learned how to apply various entrepreneurial tools and framework to designing innovative solutions using drone technology. The organizers goal was to encourage participants to start innovative drone technology related projects and enterprises.

At the end of the training, the participants had the opportunity to test DJI SPARK Drone.

Ilia State university is planning to continue offering the eDrone course, expanding and adding additional modules. The course will be open to Ilia State University students as well as to anyone outside University who is interested to become drone professional.

Due to the pandemic, the project was extended, eDrone classes moved online. A concluding consortium meeting was held on January 27 to discuss the problems and challenges.
