HERD - Raising Research Capacity of Georgian HEIs through Developing R&D Units Capstone conference and final event

On 24-25th of June Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University together with project consortium member Universities hosted the Erasmus+ KA2 HERD - Raising Research Capacity of Georgian HEIs through Developing R&D Units project capstone conference and final event. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia - Deputy Minister, Dr. Nunu Mitskevich, Deputy Head of Higher Education Development Department, Mr. Zaza Maruashvili, and Deputy Director of Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Mr. Erekle Astakhishvili took part in the capstone conference. Capstone Conference summarized the project outcomes/outputs and presented them to the wider public. The conference was held in an open discussion format with the participation of all HERD local and international partners. All the stakeholders and the wider public have been invited to attend the conference. In addition, the representatives of media outlets were invited to widely promote the project outcomes. The EU partners together with the selected GE partners delivered keynote speeches on the importance of proper research management and the strategic development of the HEIs. Around 90 participants attended the conference. The conference was supported by a live stream.

Coordinator from Ilia State University, Ana Khundadze delivered the presentation „Achievements of the Project from the glances of Georgian Consortium Members“, which included consolidated information about Local Need Assessment Report and 5 Priorities, what steps were taken to achieve goals, what were the project challenges, good practices, final outcomes and benefits.
