On February 21, 2023, a working meeting was held within the framework of the TWINNING project - "Supporting the possibility of intersectoral cooperation between research and industry" on the topic: "Development of a plan for the promotion of research ethics and integrity". The purpose of the meeting was to share European experience in the field of research ethics.

The participants discussed the topics related to enhancing the credibility of research activities, introduction of European standards of research integrity, considering the experience of Georgia. Employees of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, higher education institutions and research centers participated in the meeting as well.

Giga Khositashvili - Deputy Director of the Ilia State University Library briefly reviewed the existing practice and presented the goals and ongoing activities of the ETHICS project as a relevant undertaking of ISU and project consortium in the field of research ethics.

Project In Brief:

The aim of the national structural reform project ETHICS is to launch a systemic improvement intervention to improve the quality of University and Research-Performing Organizations (RPOs) research through launching measures to adhere to the foundations of high-quality research and excellence.
