EDUCATIONAL FOR DRONE

Ilia State University participates in ERASMUS + project “EDUCATIONAL FOR DRONE (eDrone), which aims to incorporate drone technology into the curriculum and build new competence.

The lead organization of the project is the University of Italy, Universita Degli Studi Del Sannio, partners are: Romanian UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle ) Association, University of Romania- Dunarea De Jos Din Galati, French Technology Company B4ENG, University of France - Universite D'evry-Val D'essonne, Polish Military Technology Academy, Belarussian State and State Technological Universities, Moldavian Academy of Public Administration, Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority, Moldovan Police Academy, Moldovan State Agrarian and State Universities, Armenian State and National Polytechnic Universities of Economics, Ilia State University and Tbilisi State University.

The main goals of the project are to develop and integrate courses on the use of drones in several areas of the university and professional environment, including:

  • Mechanical characteristics of drones;

  • Touchscreen devices

  • Processing and analyzing received information;

  • International and local laws governing the use of Drones;

Project coordinator from Georgia, lecturer of Ilia State University David Chechelashvili, Professor Nana Dikhaminjia, Fablab Staff - Goga Saatashvili and Avtandil Mghebrishvili participated in training and intership programme at Moldovan State University and at the Polish Military Technological Academy. Trainings were about creating drones, using microcontrollers and three-dimensional printed parts, Using touchscreen devices and cameras in drones, Methods of processing images, videos and sensory information, as well as regulations for the use of drones.

Participants in Polish Military Technology Academy met Heads of cybernetics, electronics, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Aviation departments and got detailed information about Working in high-tech laboratories in several areas: Design of different types of flying objects, Repair, testing and management; Applied and Industrial Robotics; Design and testing of virtual reality educational modules and devices; Design and testing of military weapons.

Representatives of Ilia State University are currently working to develop professional skills in the use of drone-related information to develop elective and certification courses in educational programs.
