SOCIAL SCIENCES: POLITICAL SCIENCES
The program aims to give students insights into different disciplines of social sciences and their interrelations, as well as familiarize them with the history of development of social sciences, main concepts, approaches and research methods.
In the case of focusing on political sciences, the graduates will gain:
- general knowledge of the basics of political sciences, main concepts, theories and approaches, as well as the stages of the development of the field and the ongoing processes in the modern world;
- general knowledge of research methods of political matters and strategies;
- general knowledge of interrelation between political sciences and other disciplines (sociology, philosophy);
In the case of focusing on sociology, the graduates will gain:
- general knowledge of the basics of sociology, main concepts and theories, as well as the stages of the development of the discipline and social issues;
- general knowledge of the importance of social research, methods and strategies;
- general knowledge of interrelations between sociology and other disciplines (political science or philosophy).
In the case of focusing on psychology, the graduates will gain:
- the ability to characterize psychology as science, its research subject and tasks;
- general knowledge of different disciplines of psychology and the history of its formation as science;
- general knowledge of main concepts, theoretical approaches and empiric discoveries on which different psych-technics used in different fields are based;
- knowledge of main methods of psychological research (observation, experiments, content-analysis, tests, questionnaire, interviews, focus groups etc.)
In the case of focusing on European sciences, the graduates will gain:
- general knowledge of the policy of EU countries, its institutions and the history of their formation and development, as well as their structure and functions;
- general knowledge of decision-making procedures in the EU institutions, the ongoing processes, and cultural, social and historic aspects of Europe.
