WORKSHOP ON GROUNDED THEORY

News

On February 10-13, a 3 -day workshop on Grounded Theory was organized by IDS of Ilia State University . The practical seminar was dedicated to the basic ideas and concepts of Grounded Theory methodology in theory and practice. During the highly interactive workshop, invited instructor from the University of Gottingen, Dr. Yvonne Franke discussed GT’s philosophical origins as well as its main methodological perspectives. Workshop targeted Phd candidates and young researchers from Ilia State University.

About the Trainer:

Dr. Yvonne Franke

Dr. Yvonne Franke is a political scientist who earned her doctorate at the Otto-Suhr Institute at Freie Universität Berlin. Her thesis, a grounded theory study, dealt with questions of power and rule/authority/domination using the example of the dairy chain in Argentina. Before becoming the academic coordinator of the project "Diversity Turn in Land Use Science: The importance of social diversity for sustainable development - the case of vanilla farming in Madagascar" at the Diversity Research Institute, she worked as a lecturer and research associate at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg.
