The second EMBRACE stakeholder committee meeting for Georgia took place on March 7, 2025, in Tbilisi, which was hosted by Ilia State University. The committee attendees consisted of civil society, media and academia representatives from Georgia.
In the first part of the meeting, the research team briefly reviewed the progress of the project, the research methodology, fieldwork, and then presented the findings of the project. The second part of the meeting was dedicated to a discussion. The committee members debated, how the project could contribute to making the European Union’s policy towards Georgia more efficient and what practical applications the project's findings could have in addressing hybrid threats, including combating anti-Western propaganda.
The EMBRACE (Embracing change: Overcoming obstacles and advancing democracy in the European Neighbourhood) is a Horizon Europe project that aims at analysing blockages to democratisation, identifies ways to overcome them, and suggests new policy tools to improve the European Union’s democracy promotion (EUDP) in the European neighbourhood. The project was launched in November 2022 and it lasts for 3 years.
