Leo Kvachadze

Leo Kvachadze - creator of the first syntactic system of the Georgian language, marking an important step stone in the linguistic study of Georgian language and its perception as a part of world civilization. After graduating university in 1930, Leo Kvachadzeinitially worked as a teacher in the region of Svaneti and in Public School №55 in Tbilisi subsequently. He was imprisoned soon after, making it one of the most difficult phases in his life. In 1945, Leo Kvachadze was enrolled in the department of Methodology of Georgian language Schooling of the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences for post-graduate studies. He defended his thesis in 1949 and was awarded scientificdegree in Pedagogical Sciences; he received title of a professor in 1969. Textbooks in Georgian language by Leo Kvachadze and AkakiShanidze have been published since 1964.
