Training – Research Ethics and Integrity

From November 4 to December 15, 2025, Ilia State University held a training course titled "Research Integrity and Ethics", aimed at providing researchers and PhD students with information on ethical research practices and deepening their understanding of the principles of integrity. The training was attended by 34 PhD students from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; the Faculty of Business, Technology, and Education; and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine.
The course covered key topics such as research integrity and ethics, research data management, publication ethics, open science, as well as mechanisms for preventing plagiarism and conflicts of interest.
The course was led by full professors Jana Javakhishvili and Nino Javakhishvili from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Assistant Professor Giga Khositashvili from the Faculty of Business, Technology, and Education.
The training course was developed within the framework of the EU-funded project “Responsible Conduct of Research – Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities (ETHICS)”. The main goal of the project is to improve mechanisms, procedures, and services related to research ethics and integrity in universities.
