External Dissemination Activities of Ethics Project

On 16 June 2026, Giga Khositashvili, representing the project coordinator Ilia State University, delivered an interactive workshop entitled "Research Ethics and Integrity Through the Lens of Artificial Intelligence" at Goethe University Frankfurt. The workshop was organized within the Summer Semester 2026 workshop series "Data Literacy and Digital Research Practice."
The event attracted almost 80 registered participants from Goethe University Frankfurt and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The audience consisted primarily of PhD candidates and faculty members with an interest in research integrity, responsible research practices, and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in research. During the workshop, Giga Khositashvili explored the fundamental principles of research ethics and integrity, discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with the responsible use of AI in research, and presented the key deliverables of the ETHICS project. The session concluded with an engaging discussion and a lively question-and-answer session, allowing participants to exchange perspectives and experiences on emerging ethical challenges in research.
On 25 June 2026 during the 2nd International Scientific Forum "Pedagogical Excellence of the Future Teacher: Progress, Formation, Improvement, and Growth," hosted online by Poltava National Pedagogical University (Ukraine).
The online conference brought together more than 100 participants from universities and educational institutions across Ukraine. During his presentation, Giga Khositashvili introduced the ETHICS project, providing an overview of its objectives, achievements, and main deliverables. He highlighted the project's contribution to strengthening research integrity, promoting responsible conduct of research, and supporting the development of institutional policies, training resources, and capacity-building initiatives in Georgian higher education.
These dissemination activities contributed to increasing the international visibility of the ETHICS project, fostering dialogue on research integrity and ethics, and promoting the project's outcomes among diverse academic communities across Europe.
Project in Brief
The ETHICS project is a national structural reform initiative funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Program. The project aims to strengthen the quality of research in Georgian universities and research-performing organizations by promoting responsible conduct of research, research integrity, and research ethics through systemic institutional reforms, capacity building, policy development, and educational resources.
