University Research and Entrepreneurial Skills Program

News

The project aims to enhance entrepreneurship training and strengthening the process of extending university research into the development and commercialization phases. The project will also develop a system that encourages university professors, researchers, and students to participate in sponsored research, publish in Georgian, European, and North American academic journals, patent and commercialize their inventions, and collaborate with industry to develop a sustainable entrepreneurial skills program and to foster a regional ecology of innovation and entrepreneurship.

ISU has already established a Technology Commercialization Center, a Future Fabrication Laboratory, a Pre-accelerator-Innovation and Entrepreneurship Space, and a Visualization Lab – helping to foster entrepreneurship among both students and professors. ISU would like to strengthen its development capacity by incorporating entrepreneurship teaching and support into its system. ISU will further develop this infrastructure by hosting seminars, trainings, and gatherings of representatives of other universities, nonprofit organizations, governments, and businesses.

The project intends to create a reciprocal collaboration where both universities will benefit and learn from one another. Much of this collaboration will be conducted online between visits and in-person meetings. Such collaboration will include curricula and pedagogy exchange, sharing experience between interested faculties, researchers and administrators, and establishing student collaboration.
