Workshop: “Linking to Europe at the Periphery”

Eskisehir Osmangazi University (Turkey) hosted the workshop “Linking to Europe at the Periphery, LEAP” on October 15-16.
The workshop was aimed at conceptualizing and empirically exploring the reasons for confrontation/contradiction with Europe. In particular, it addressed the issues of how similar or different the discourse of resistance to the European Union in the European periphery is in terms of socio-cultural, economic, political, security or identity context.
Professors of Ilia State University: Giorgi Gvalia, Nino Javakhishvili, Nino Dolidze, Ana Makashvili, as well as a doctoral student of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Shalva Berianidze, presented reports within the panel “The Image of European Integration in Georgia” at the workshop.
