Workshop: "Identity and Conflict: Revisioning Relations in the EU Neighbourhood"

21 German, Armenian, Azeri and Georgian students (MA and advanced BA level) participtated in a DAAD-funded international workshop with students from the South Caucasus held at the Ilia State University in Tbilisi from 11 to 16 March 2019.

The workshop consisted of three main blocs:

(1) an intercultural competence workshop to facilitate communication across cultural divides;
(2) a teaching bloc on identity and conflict as well as the EU and conflict transformation;
(3) a group exercise to develop scenarios for conflict resolution in the South Caucasus

The workshop was led by staff from the University of Tübingen (uni-tuebingen.de/fakultaeten/wirtschafts-und-sozialwissenschaftliche-fakultaet/faecher/fachbereich-sozialwissenschaften/ifp/institut/lehrende/ipol/) incollaboration with colleagues from Ilia State University ( https://faculty.iliauni.edu.ge/arts/oliver-reisner/?lang=en ) and SeminarsSimulationsConsulting (SSC) Europe (www.ssc-europe.eu). The participants presented their simulations at the end of the week in Tbilisi. Participants were interested in EU-Caucasus relations, excellent study grades (preferably in International Relations or European Studies). The workshop was conducted in English. The workshop was fully funded by the DAAD.

The results of the simulations will be shared upon completion via internet.
