Tinatin Dvalishvili was selected as holder of the Young Researcher Grant 2019 and is the second postdoc whose short-term research project is funded by the Carl Friedrich Lehmann- Haupt International Doctoral Program (LHIDP). The funding starts on April 1, 2019 and lasts for a total of eleven months.

Tinatin has recently earned her Ph.D. degree in Political Science from Ilia State University (ISU) and will now – within the frame of the Young Researcher Grant – carry out a follow-up research project on the topic “Added Value of Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) for Georgia’s Eastern Border Region”. The findings of this project will be published in an international scientific journal upon completion of the Young Researcher Grant term.

In addition to her own research project Tinatin will also be actively involved as a junior academic in the academic life at ISU. She will hold seminars for students at ISU's School of Arts and Sciences and organize events for the doctoral students participating in the LHIDP. Moreover, as holder of the Young Researcher Grant Tinatin will as well assist a professor in the supervision of a doctoral student.

The Young Researcher Grant, offered within the frame of the LHIDP, provides a specific instrument for supporting junior faculty at ISU and allows for both self-development as a scientist through the realization of a short-term research project as well as familiarization with the key responsibilities of an academic teacher.
