Selection Results of Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) First Call for Proposals and Funded Projects of Ilia State University

News

As a result of The first Call for proposals of a Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) created in frames of a program – “Georgia I2Q – Innovation, Inclusion and Quality”, all the five proposed project ideas submitted by Ilia State University were successful for funding. Within the frames of the CIF First Call for Proposals 13 projects were funded in total under the leadership of Georgian Higher Education Institutions.
Funded projects of Ilia State University are the following:

1. “Learning Labs for Equal Rights” – Ilia State University and Gori State University

The goal of the project is to create a multidisciplinary/multiprofessional learning practical laboratories (hub) promoting employment in the higher education system, which will be used for psychology and social work students as a place of practice, where an analysis of various jobs for disabled people will be prepared, and specific work-related skills of disabled/disabled people will be determined; and it will become possible to promote the social integration of disabled people and their involvement in the supportive community.
 
2. “Innovation and Technology for Medicine” – Ilia State University and Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy

The project aims the development research components specific for one step medical education programme and their realization via application of problem- and project-based methodologies. The approach is innovative and facilitates within medical curricula the development of skills required for performance of students research, analysis and practical application of scientific-research concepts. Project is a combination of scientific-research and educational activities.
 
3. “Education for better employment: A partnership in innovative healthcare” - Ilia State University and BAU International University Batumi

The project aims to promote integration of higher education with the labour market in the field of healthcare by developing modern, innovative educational programs and establishing sustainable, intersectoral partnerships.
 
4. “Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Somatic Therapy Method Implementation for Better Mental Wellbeing and Enhancing Mental Health Education in Georgia” - Ilia State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

The project aims to: a) Create new mental healthcare opportunities for Ilia State University (iliauni) students as well as general population of Georgia, with the purpose of improving their mental wellbeing; b) Expand potential for learning/teaching and clinical practice for consortium members; c) Increase the innovative research capacities and outreach.
 
5. „Fostering University Enterprise/Entrepreneurship Education (EE) Reform for Boosting Engaged Learning in Creativity“  - Ilia State University and SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY (SDSU), U.S.A

The project to ‘Foster University Entrepreneurship Education (EE) Curricular and Co-curricular Reform’ will promote (a) a culture of student and academic innovations, (b) entrepreneurship activities through curriculum, and co-curricular innovation and students spaces, and (c) start-up support system development and start-up creation at ILIAUNI to advance economic growth of Georgia.
