The reception ceremony for first-year students was held at Ilia State University on September 24.

Professor Nino Doborjginidze, the Rector of Ilia State University, opened the event and congratulated the recruits on starting of a new chapter of their lives.

The rector, deans and heads of schools awarded the first-year students who successfully passed Unified National Examinations with 1000 GEL scholarship vouchers.

The voucher was awarded to:

• Nino Kruashvili, the highest rated student of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. She will continue her studies in the field of psychology at Ilia State University;
• Vusali Akhmedov, the highest rated student of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences with scaled scores according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. He will continue his studies in the educational program of the Georgian language for Azerbaijani speakers;
• Giorgi Turashvili, the highest rated student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. He will continue his studies in the field of Ecology;
• Luka Martashvili, the highest rated student of the School of Medicine according to the results of the Unified National Examinations;
• Lizi Kapanadze, the highest rated student of the Faculty of Business, Technology and Education, as well as the School of Business according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. She will continue her studies in the field of Banking and Finance;
• Tatuli Bliadze, the highest rated student of the School of Education according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. She will master the profession of Primary School Teacher;
• Vazha Saginadze, the highest rated student of the School of Technology according to the results of the Unified National Examinations. He will study in the English-language Bachelor's program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
• Giorgi Mikelashvili, the highest rated student of the School of Law according to the results of the Unified National Examinations.

The following students were awarded with a conditional scholarship voucher of Smeaton Educational Foundation, which means a full, four-year funding for the English-language Bachelor's program of Civil Engineering in the case of maintaining high academic performance at the School of Technology of Ilia State University:

• Nino Machaidze – for successfully passing the qualifying exams of Smeaton Educational Foundation;
• Andria Bechvaia – for successfully passing the qualifying exams of Smeaton Educational Foundation;
• Aleksandre Razmadze – for successfully passing the qualifying exams of Smeaton Educational Foundation.
