Announcment of one PhD student position in Religious and Cultural Studies within the Lehmann-Haupt International Doctoral Program

Ilia State University announces a call for applications for one PhD student position within the “Lehmann-Haupt International Doctoral Program”. The discipline is Religious and Cultural Studies. The multidisciplinary “Lehmann-Haupt International Doctoral Program” is a joint project between Ilia State University Tbilisi (ISU) and Georg-August-University of Göttingen (UGOE) which gives Ph.D. students from various scientific fields the opportunity to pursue their doctoral projects within a structured Cotutelle-based framework and obtain a Ph.D. degree by each of the two universities. Funding granted by the German VolkswagenStiftung and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia allows the allocation of a full scholarship to the PhD student.
Applications must be submitted by e-mail to: doctoralschool@iliauni.edu.ge by the end of the application deadline. Please indicate “Religious and Cultural Studies” in the subject line.
The application deadline is August 27, 2018, 6:00 p.m. Georgian time (GET).
Applicants who cannot present a sufficient evidence of their proficiency in English and German (only required if opted for German as language of the doctoral thesis) at the time of application submission can take a language exams at ISU. The English exam will take place on September 8, the German exam on September 11. The exact times and auditoria will be announced here in due time before the exams.

The English language exam at ISU, for those applicants who did not present a sufficient proof of English language proficiency with their application, will take place on September 8, 2018, from 11:00 to 13:00 in Auditorium F411.
The German language exam (only in case if the doctoral thesis shall be written in German) at ISU, for those applicants who did not present a sufficient proof of German language proficiency with their application, will take place on September 11, 2018, from 10:00 to 12:00 in Auditorium E 202.
Please subscribe 10 minutes before the start of each exam with a valid proof of identity. Late attendees cannot be admitted to the exam!
An appeal against the given score must be filed via e-mail to info@iliauni.edu.ge no later than September 13, 2018 until 18:00.
