The award-winning documentary "Welcome to Chechnya'' tells a story of the group of activists who risk their lives to save LGBTQI+ people. They are threatened, detained, tortured and executed. In Chechnya, there are no homosexuals. That is what the tyrannical leader Ramzan Kadyrov has decided.

We will discuss the issues presented in the movie and the rights of LGBTQI+ people living in Russia. Together with Professor Arimond, we will talk about the international organization Rainbow Railroad, which helps LGBTQI+ people to escape state-sponsored violence.

Bridget Arimond - Professor, Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law (Chicago, USA)
Yuri Yoursky - Human Rights Coordinator at ECOM - Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity
