On October 11-13, 2023, the Law School at Ilia State University hosted a series of lectures: "Global Justice: International Law in Action." This event was made possible thanks to the generous financial support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Open Society Georgia Foundation.

Highlighting the series was a captivating public lecture by International Criminal Court (ICC) Judge Joanna Korner. In addition, the program featured engaging lecture-seminars led by experts in the field, including Judge Korner, Central European University (CEU) Professor Jeremy McBride, European Court of Human Rights Judge Mykola Gnatovsky, International Criminal Law Expert Wayne Jordash, Ilia State University Professors Tinatin Goletiani and Levan Meshkhoradze, and Free University Professor Tamar Tomashvili.

Seventeen talented students from various universities, selected through a competitive process, had the privilege of participating in this enlightening lecture series. Throughout the sessions, these students had the opportunity to engage in discussions and gain insights into international criminal law, international humanitarian law, the work of the European Court of Human Rights, and human rights-related topics.

To recognise their hard work and dedication, all the participating students were awarded special certificates at the conclusion of the lecture series, marking the successful completion of this educational event.
