“Configuration of Modern Judaism: Internal Currents and Theologies” - Lecture by Dr. Golan Ben-Chorin

A lecture by Rabbi Golan Ben-Chorin, the Israeli scholar, will be held at the book house “Ligamus” of Iliauni on October 26, at 17:00.

Topic of the lecture: “Configuration of Modern Judaism: Internal Currents and Theologies”

Dr. Ben-Chorin will review current theological trends in Judaism.

The lecture will be followed by a discussion about Judaism, the Talmud tradition, the philosophy of Jewish education and Judaic issues.

About Dr. Golan Ben-Chorin

Rabbi Golan Ben-Chorin holds degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York. He has been researching issues of Jewish education for 30 years. In 2006, he defended his doctoral dissertation on pluralism as a Jewish concept in the philosophy of education while holding a research position at the University of Haifa (Israel).

In 2007, he created Jewish pluralistic education courses at the Hebrew Union College (Jerusalem) and taught students, educators, and laypeople.

He founded the International Fellowship at Brandeis University and directed the Israel Program at the Rabbinical Leo Baeck College in London. He is an international consultant and co-founder of “Finding North” program.
