22 students of School of Technology at Ilia State University become members of the largest technical professional organization in the world, along with 5 professors.

IEEE is one of the most influential professional organizations in the field of engineering, computer science and technology around the world. A wide network of more than 400,000 engineers is an important space for collaboration, sharing of ideas and changes in the engineering field.

Professors and students of Ilia State University will actively cooperate within this network, participate in conferences, meetings and competitions, which will provide a basis for new technological ideas and initiatives in Georgia.

IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its more than 419,000 members in over 160 countries, and its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. 

The top 22 students received funding from the university and they successfully passed all the required steps for IEEE membership.
