Psychological Counseling Center for Iliauni Students - Social Competence Improvement Group

If you suffer from anxiety when interacting with people, cannot stand being the center of attention, worry during social situations, this course will help you manage social anxiety and make it easier for you to interact with people.

We will discuss the following issues in the group:

  • What is social anxiety and what kind of unwanted thoughts and behaviors accompany it;
  • Learn simple techniques for reducing anxiety;
  • Improve communication skills.

Group meetings consist of 6 sessions.

Meetings will be conducted via the online platform - ZOOM.

Number of participants: 10-12.

Duration of each meeting: 1.5-2 hours.

Group Leader: Ana Papava, Psycho-consultant of the Psychological Counseling Center for students.

The group of social competencies is not group therapy. You won't be obligated to talk about your difficulties and feelings, if you do not want to, although it is advisable to engage in the offered exercises.

In the case of participation, it is important not to miss meetings. The group will be closed and new members won't be added in the middle of the process.

Who is the group intended for?

If you have noticed that you are worried about socializing or are avoiding any social situations, delivering a speech at a lecture or starting a new relationship, this course may be helpful for you.

If you suffer from severe social anxiety or other common mental health problems (depressed mood, prolonged stress, difficulty adjusting, and/or etc.), please sign up for an individual session (email us at ispcc@iliauni.edu.ge).

April 12, 16:00.
April 19, 16:00.
April 26, 16:00.
May 3, 16:00.
May 10, 16:00.

Registration will continue until April 1st, inclusive.
