Registration for the 2nd stream of DevOps trainings begins

Ilia State University continues the DevOps, technological training series, Advanced IT Trainings, with the support of the USAID Economic Security Program “Training for Life (T4L) Industry-Led Workforce Development”.

Within the framework of the project, a total of 120 novice practitioners of the IT field will develop their skills in DevOps, one of the most demanded directions of the field of information technology.

The project started on October 10, 2021, and its 60 participants went through intensive DevOps, DataOps and CloudOps courses for free for 6 months.

Admission for the second stream of the DevOps course is announced, which also covers DataOps and CloudOps topics. 60 participants will be selected for this course as well. The course of the second stream requires payment, its cost is 1000 GEL.

Participants will undergo trainings that include both theoretical and practical components, culminating in a final project.

The participants will also undergo career development trainings, where they will get to know opportunities for the employment of developers that exist today in Georgia and abroad, meet with representatives of leading IT companies and participate in employment forums.

Ilia State University, with its partner IT companies, will offer participants to partake in internship programs. The internship will be financed with 600 GEL from the project, the amount includes taxes.

60 IT practitioners interested in DevOps career development will participate in the course.

The duration of the course is 6 months, 3 hours a week. Cost - 1000 GEL.

Who is the course intended for?

The course is intended for novice engineers working in the field of IT, who have some programming experience and want to learn the latest technologies in the field of automation of processes and data management.

DevOps course will discuss the following topics:

  • The significance of DevOps in modern information technology, automation of processes;
  • Fundamentals of Python, introduction to Flask and FastAPI packages;
  • Introduction to NIX systems OS/Networking;
  • Using Git-based systems;
  • Containerization of application using Docker and Podman;
  • DevOps process planning;
  • Management of artifacts;
  • Fundamentals of testing;
  • Container management tools (K8S, EKS);
  • K8S operations; Introduction to CI/CD;
  • Introduction to AWS and Digital Ocean Clouds;
  • Software monitoring, continuous integration and testing.

DevOps Course Requirements:

  • Practical programming experience (Python experience is preferred);
  • Basic knowledge of Linux: configuration of services and creation of simple scripts;
  • Knowledge of the basics of networks and distributed systems.

 How can I become a project participant?

To participate in the project, you need to fill out a simple application form no later than December 11, 2022.
