Essay Competition for Pupils: ‘How did the Covid-19 pandemic affect your rights?’
Competitions
The Ilia State University (ISU) School of Law Department of Human Rights announces a competition of essays dedicated to the International Human Rights Day, in which the 10th to 12th grade pupils can participate. The topic of essay is: ‘How did the Covid-19 pandemic affect your rights?’
Essay Topic
The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly affected children, especially their rights to healthcare, education and protection from violence.
Children found it difficult to fully engage in distant learning activities, while the majority of pupils have had no access to a computer and the internet.
Social isolation and the lack of communication with their peers have also had a significant impact on the emotional health of children.
Any right of the child, which has been affected by the pandemic, can make the topic of an essay.
Competition Requirements:
To take part in the competition, fill in the simple application form and upload your essay with the it.
When completing the application form and uploading an essay with it, make sure to:
- Upload only one essay;
- Follow ISU’s academic style; plagiarized texts will not be reviewed by the jury;
- Submit your essay before 30 December, 23:59; essays submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
- Have your essay written in Georgian, using a Georgian font;
- Limit the number of words in your essay to 1000;
- Submit your essay in MS Word format, in Sylfaen, font size: 12, spacing: 1,15
- Carefully complete each field.
Prize
The jury will reveal three winners, who will be granted the following funding for pursuing their studies at the ISU School of Law.
First Place Winner – GEL 1000 grant voucher
Second Place Winner – GEL 800 grant voucher
Third Place Winner – GEL 500 grant voucher
You will be able to use the voucher if you continue your studies at the ISU School of Law after completing your school education.
By taking part in the competition, all pupils accept the competition requirements.
