On June 7, 15:00, Professor Laura Adams, Director of Program on Central Asia and the Caucasus at Harvard University Davis Center, will deliver a public lecture on "UNESCO and the Politics of Intangible Cultural Heritage”

At the beginning of the current century, Georgian polyphony was awarded the title of “Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” through the program initiated by UNESCO.

Within the framework of this program, Prof. Adams is conducting the comparative research on the importance of the globalization of local cultural heritage. The particular attention will be given to the unexpected positive effects of the Soviet heritage and the politics of caring directed to the cultural heritage of national minorities.
