PUBLIC DISCUSSION ON LEGAL REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT FOR CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATE TO BE HELD

On April 1, 18:30, in A101 room of Ilia State University, a public discussion on legal regulatory environment for currency exchange rate will be held; the event has been organized by the Law School and Students’ Court Club. The discussion will be led by Deputy Head of legal department at National Bank of Georgia and invited professor of Law School, Irakli Kalandadze as well as lawyer of National Bank, Giorgi Dziguashvili.

At the event will be discussed the issues as follows:

1. Overview of legislative framework related to regulation of currency exchange rate;
2. Floating and fixed exchange rates;
3. Procedures for fixing currency exchange rates and the role of National Bank in determining the rate;
4. Major reasons for currency devaluation;
5. Reasonability of interventions when the value of currency is falling.
