On October 16-17, 2013, Ilia State University will host the conference entitled "Psychiatry Today: Working with Out Patients" initiated by the Bridging Eastern and Western Psychiatry.

Date and Venue: October 16, at 16:00, Ilia State University, G. Tsereteli str. 2, room G 106.

The Bridging Eastern & Western Psychiatry (BE&WP) is a professional organization founded in 2002 by Maria Luisa Figueira and Mario Di Fiorino. Among the founders, there are scholarship holders in the field of Psychiatry and Psychology, mainly from the European universities. The major trend of the association is linked to the promotion of the academic research and development of the relationships between the eastern and western psychiatrists.

The Organization BE&WP annually publishes a scientific journal in English language.

The conference will be attended by Hagop Akiskal, Head of the San-Diego International Center for Affective Disorders, well-known for his research on bipolar disorder and temperament.
