Presentation of Comparative Literature Collection

Events

Presentation of comparative literature collection will be held in Ilia Stat University bookstore Ligamus, on March 19, 6 p.m.

Comparative literature collection is becoming Ilia State University annual publication. The first, 2013, collection includes 34 scientific articles prepared by Georgian and foreign researches, for the university –organized scientific conferences and seminars.

This collection covers the following topics: comparative literature and modernity; literature, politics, ideology; philological and interdisciplinary research; literature, investigation, process.

Since Georgian scientific society is interested in comparative literature, we have the ability to diversify intercultural literary research and thus overcome cultural blockade; view the world and Georgian cultural and literary reality from a more unobstructed position; research Georgian literature  like we research world literature, to perceive, review and connect literary and cultural, civil and political processes; share the thought and cultural experience that helps other countries cope with traumatic past in modern cultural and social reality; find ways to reintegrate Georgian culture into contemporary world.

Consequently, comparative literature, as a discipline, can play an important role in Georgian scientific, cultural and civil space.
