In recent times, western institutions of higher education give more attention to study the medieval period by interdisciplinary approaches.  There are special programs which provide students with opportunities to become high-qualified specialists.  Ilia State University tracks the same aims to meet new tendencies and to prepare philosophers, sociologists, linguists, and researchers in the fields of literature and art.
