Use of Research and Constructivist Approach in Natural Science Teaching

The lecture will be held on November 14, 17:00. Venue: ISU room - A 101.

The lecture will be focused on traditional and constructivist models in natural science teaching and differences between these two approaches. The lecturer will demonstrate some tips how to adapt any natural science issue with using of both research and constructivist approaches.

Dr. MacDonald is an associate professor and a head of the Department, a Fulbright scholar from the University of Detroit Mercy (Michigan). Before the University, Dr. MacDonald worked in the field of education as a teacher and school master, taught the methodology of natural science and practical research in Michigan State University. Also, he delivered online lectures designed for primary and secondary schoolchildren at Michigan Virtual University (online school in Michigan).

Dr. MacDonald devotes great attention to trainees or experienced teachers actively striving for professional growth. During his career, he was a supervisor for newcomers. In April 2005, MacDonald was named as the best practitioner teacher by the Michigan University. In 2008, He became the best online teacher. MacDonald teaches and delivers lectures in England, Japan, China, Brazil, and now in Georgia. In 2004, Dr. McDonald obtained the Doctor of Philosophy in Education at the University of Michigan.
