International Conference on Wildlife Diseases and Species Conservation

Events

On 11 and 12 October, from 10am to 3pm, an international conference on Wildlife Diseases and Species Conservation will be held at ISU (room G106). Organized by the Tbilisi Zoological Park, the conference will be held with the financial support from ISU.

Conference participants include professors from ISU and the Turin and Siena universities, members of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Species Survival Commission, NACRES (Noah’s Ark Centre for the Recovery of Endangered Species) and the Tbilisi Zoological Park.

  •  The conference speakers will present information on the spread of various diseases in wildlife, both terrestrial and aquatic, and their detection, as well as the importance of the study of disease causes for the conservation of rare species;
  • Presentations will be made on the current status and the ways of conservation of mountain ungulates;
  • A separate seminar will be dedicated to the planning of conservation of mountain ungulates (12 October, after the break).
