On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, 5pm first year PhD students from the field of political sciences (enrolled in the Fall Semester 2010-2011) will have a chance to attend an information session on scholarships provided by the program “Academic Swiss Caucasus Net” (www.ascn.ch). This meeting will take place at Ilia State University (address: 32 Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, building “A”, room #101). It will be moderated by the dean of the School of Graduate Studies David Aprasidze and a representative of the “Academic Swiss Caucasus Net” Tiko Khadagishvili.

“Academic Swiss Caucasus Net” is a five-year program, which sets the goal to develop humanities and social sciences in the Caucasus.  

The scholarship offers a monthly stipend of 700 GEL. First year PhD students of the Ilia State University who are enrolled in the program of political sciences and whose dissertation thesis concerns issues of democratization and transition are eligible to apply for the scholarship this funding. The scholarship will be awarded to two PhD students for a period of one year (there is a possibility of extension).
