Educate the Educators Training Programme Reflections on Enterprise Education

Outline:

This programme aims to support, inform and enable academic staff from a wide range of disciplines to develop the knowledge and skills to embed enterprise into the curriculum.

Learners for this specific module will present to their peers on how they have applied the principles of enterprise education into their teaching, discussing any successes and challenges that they have experienced in embedding enterprise into their curriculum area. The learners will receive feedback and suggestions from their peers and the tutor to help develop their practice further.

This specific module will support staff to develop and design enterprising and innovative curricular by introducing them to pedagogies and educational tools that have been implemented in UK universities and across the globe and drawing on best practice guidelines such as the QAA 2018 Guidance on Enterprise and Entrepreneurship and the 2016 European Commission EntreComp Framework.

The training will include classroom-based workshops and activities. Activities will be interactive in nature, with an emphasis on learning by doing and giving delegates the opportunity to develop their own practice.

The Training will be delivered by Mhairi Threlfall- Senior Enterprise Consultant, Aldridge Institute for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, UWE Bristol.

09:30-17:00 on July 8th

Audience:

University teaching staff from a wide range of disciplines that are looking to embed enterprise into the curriculum. 

Objectives:

1.To enable learners to explore the concepts of enterprise, the entrepreneurial mindset and innovation.

2.To encourage staff to increase their awareness of innovation and to broaden their international outlook.

3.To provide an opportunity for staff to experiment with new tools and approaches to entrepreneurial learning and consider how best to deliver these to have greatest impact.

4.To support staff in embedding and assessing enterprise and entrepreneurship in the curriculum.
