Caucasus Barcode of Life (CaBOL) Project Pavilion

On July 5, the Caucasus Barcode of Life (CaBOL) project will participate in the scientific educational event Blue Policy of the Black Sea organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University in Batumi.

The Caucasus Barcode of Life project is coordinated by Ilia State University and funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, with the involvement of seven research institutions from Georgia, Armenia and Germany.

The Black Sea Blue Policy scientific educational event will give visitors the opportunity to get acquainted with the essence of the CaBOL project and research methods, and deepen interest in wildlife.

A mini-laboratory will be arranged on the spot where visitors will have an opportunity to:

  • See the world of invertebrates, sort the sample and get acquainted with the basics of databases;
  • Participate in the creation of herbarium.

In addition to laboratory work, visitors will learn interesting facts about the species that make up the majority of the Earth's biomass.
