“Business Cases 2011” – Granting Ceremony

On July 8, 11:00, Ilia State University Hall A 101(Chavchavadze Ave.32) will host a granting ceremony of the project “Business Cases 2011”.

The project “Business Cases 2011” initiated by ISU College of Business has already been implemented for the second time at the university. The project was carried out during three months including the period from March to July. The project regarding the intellectual games supports students to enhance professional skills as well as to develop critical thinking. In addition, the project facilitates the participants to implement European style of the business cases, to make a result-oriented decision as well as to familiarize them with up-to-date news occurring in the business sphere. 

This year, 54 groups including students from Ilia State University and other universities participated in the project. 

“Business Cases 2011” was carried out in three fractions. The first part was divided into the three stages as well. 

According to the total points, 28 groups moved to the semi-final and at last, only 14 groups progressed to the final. 

The group works were evaluated by the board of jury including four members- three permanent and one nonpermanent affiliates. At each stage, students chose 2-2 cases from 3-3 cases placed in the sealed envelopes. (The information about the results, please see www.iliauni.edu.ge )

The lecturers of the universities discussed the cases highly structured in accordance with Georgian and foreign examples. 

The winners will be named and granted with valuable gifts and diplomas. As well, British Midland International (BMI) will grant the bests with two tickets (Tbilisi-London-Tbilisi).  Two companies such as “Kula” (Vano Goglidze, Director) and “Trade and Development Group” (Nukri Todradze, Director) will nominate their favorite groups which expressed the original ideas. The project is supported by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia, Georgian Water and Power (GWP), New Economic School of Georgia, Student Self-Government, ISU Administration and others.
