The Best Georgian Novel 2011

Announcements

Ilia State University announces an open competition for the best Georgian novel.  The university has been organizing the contest since 2009. 

According to the contest terms and regulations, the contestant novels must be published from December 5, 2010 to December 5, 2011.  All interested persons are able to present their novels at Ilia State University from October 31 to December 5.

The members of the selection commission will evaluate the novels individually according to the common scale.  The collegiate decisions will not be taken into consideration.

The winner will be the novel that received with the majority of points. The list of selection commission members remains confidential, but will linclude professors and students of Ilia State University.

The winner of the contest will be rewarded with the biggest literary prize in Georgia – 10 000 Laris.

Last year, 20 novels were presented to the contest.  Aka Morchiladze's novel "The Mameluk" received the prize for "The Best Georgian Novel 2010”.
