Social changes and crises in the modern society

On July 3, 2013 Ilia State University will organize second scientific conference of sociologists on the following topic: “Social changes and crises in the modern society”.  Social changes in the modern society are characterized with special complexity and with very hasten tempo which causes long-term crises in the specific spheres of society.

The aim of the conference on the one hand is to represent sociological analysis of the social changes on the macro level, which has an influence on such social institutes as economics, politics, religion, family, education, science, technologies, legal system etc. On the other hand in the focus of sociologists researches are such social changes realized on the micro level that influence our values, attitudes, beliefs, action of individuals and in total changes our life. Young researchers who are interested in social changes and crises are given the opportunity to present their works and share ideas with each other.

The aim of the conference is:

To give an opportunity to the students and young researchers working on the abovementioned issues to meet each other, to widen their academic network, discuss their work and share ideas with each other, to discuss the important challenges and difficulties that the modern society is facing which are becoming especially impulsive for sociological reflection.

The terms of participation:

Young researchers as well as bachelor and PhD students can participate in the conference.

Documents:

Interested candidates should send 1 page CV, abstract of the work to be presented at the conference (not more than 300 words) and recommendation from the supervisor. The deadline is April 20, 2013. Documents should be sent to the following email:ana.kirvalidze@iliauni.edu.ge
