The ASCN Programme will announce in September 2010 a one-year scholarship for 2 PhD. students in political science registered at Ilia State University.

Eligibility
The scholarship will be open to PhD students registered at Ilia State University and writing their PhD thesis in the field of political science with a strong focus on democratization and transition processes. It will be open to PhD students in their 1st or 2nd year as of October 2010.

Scope of the scholarship
Selected candidates will get an attractive monthly scholarship (700 GEL) enabling them to fully work on their PhD thesis. Besides, the scholarship will foresee a fully covered scientific visit of a minimum of 2 months at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) as well as the opportunity to participate in international conferences to present the progress of one’s research.

Duration
The scholarship will be intended for a period of one year with possibility of extension depending on the state of progress of the PhD thesis.

Official announcement and submission
The official announcement of the scholarship will be made in September 2010 via the www.ascn.ch website as well as the Ilia State University website, once the decisions on accepted PhD. candidates to Ilia State University are made. Applications will have to be submitted by the end of October 2010. Decisions will be made by mid-November 2010.
