Public Policy Research and Training Center (PPRTC), within Master's Program of Public Administration (MPA) Announces call for the grant "Role and Responsibilities of the State in the Field of Workers' Rights Regulation". The aim of the grant is to draft a policy paper based on in-depth research; based on the study, specific and realistic recommendations will be written for the state structures in order to protect and improve regulations of workers' rights.  

Grant application must: (1) Examine Georgia's labor policy and involvement in the field of workers' rights protection and regulation (2) analyze new labor code regulations  (3) Using specific examples, analyze Georgian state's function as effective actor and mediator for  maintaining just balance between both parties (employer and employee) and for making decisions in accordance to international workers' rights standards (4) Include practical, realistic and specific recommendations for solving problems to be used for creating state policy.

Academic and research personnel that have expert knowledge in the field of Georgian labor policy may apply for the grant.

PPRTC council of advisers comprised of Ilia State University experts, civil public organizations, international donors and Georgian public sector representatives, will select one winner among the applicants. The winner must conduct the research in the time of three months (June 1- September 1, 2014). Grant budget for the research project is max. 2,500 USD equivalent in Lari.  
Application form must be filled in and sent with professional resume via the E-mail noted in the grant application form no later than May 23, 2014. 

The grant call is implemented in scope of the project "Creating Master's Programs in Public Administration", financed by USAID and implemented along with East West Management Institute (EWMI).
