On April 30, memorandum of collaboration will be signed between Ilia State University and Tbilisi Municipal Court.

The aim of the memorandum is to support qualified legal education.

In frames of the memorandum, on the base of Tbilisi Municipal Court, with the support of Tbilisi Municipal Court lecture-seminars will be held for Ilia State University students.

During collaboration students will learn about the court system, they will be informed about the laws in force and about the legal topics of their interest. They will be given opportunity to attend, at least once in a week, the municipal court processes. Also, Student Olympiads and imitated courts will be held. Participation in developing practical abilities of chosen students from the bachelor program of the Law School will be implemented, at the same time other events that will help aims and objectives of the abovementioned memorandum will be planed and implemented.

In the frames of memorandum Tbilisi Municipal Court will held lectures and seminars on the following topics:

• Judiciary – short historical background, court instances;
• Judiciary – current state;
• Judiciary – implemented and ongoing reforms;
• The essence and the aims of Judiciary;
• Juvenile crime, the approach of the law and peculiarities towards them;
• Georgian constitution;
• State and Law.

The court will design excursions for students in the building of court and will organize student’s attendance at the court processes; will participate in developing practical abilities of students and in the process of their assessment; will organize legal Olympiad for students and imitated courts.

On Tuesday, April 30 in the auditorium 101 at 16:00 this memorandum will be signed. After finishing the signing procedure the head of the Municipal Court Mr. Mamuka Akhvlediani will deliver public lecture for students.
