Law School Students Getting Ready for Finals

Ilia State University Law School team is getting ready to participate in Willem S. Vis moot court. Three Law School M.A. students comprise the team. The noted moot is world's leading law school competition. It encourages participants to learn international commercial law and court of appeals. Currently this moot is implemented for the 21st time; approximately 300 teams will participate in the finals. Moot court contains two parts: drafting a memorandum based on the claimant and respondent position and oral presentation based on the memorandum. It will take place in Hong Kong. Ilia State University participates in final round that takes place in Vienna, April 11-18.

ISU team participated in a preliminary round in Prague, in order to get to the finals. The moot was held on April 4-6; 17 university teams from different countries participated in the preliminary round. ISU team competed against the following teams: Indonesia University (Indonesia), University of Silesia (Poland), Palacky University (Czech Republic), Petru Maior University (Romania). The team members successfully presented their positions in front of the judge and gained important experience for the final round in Vienna.
