Future Leaders
European Union and Association Agreement, Seminars and Contest

Aim of the project:  to raise awareness of youth, as future leaders, in field of European Union and Association Agreement and agreement regarding formation of deep and all-encompassing trade space.

Planned Activities:

1.Meeeting Speakers:  British Councils will conduct meeting between Ilia State University students and Ambassador of Great Britain; Office of State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration; NATO and European Union Information Center speakers.
2. Contest – Importance of learning foreign languages

Ilia State University British Councils teachers will conduct lesson on learning foreign languages, using materials published on  TeachingEnglish web page: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/language-assistant/essential-uk/languages.

During the lesson student will:

• Discuss the importance of learning foreign languages, how many foreign languages they know and what learning g methodology they prefer, etc.
• Learn about results of 2012 survey conducted by European Committee regarding foreign languages spoken in different European countries and the tendencies in teaching foreign languages
• Will discuss different approaches of teaching foreign languages
Students participating in the contest will be tasked with preparing and presenting short essay or video material about a preferred topic that has been discussed during the lesson

3. British Councils will conduct Final Contest Event; finalists will present their work

Contest Terms and Conditions
•Work presented for the contest topic should be chosen among one of the lesson topics
•Work presented for the contest  should be done in English
•Essay should contain  200 – 250 words ( Essay presentation should be 5 minutes maximum)
•The paper structure should follow essay structure rules indicated on British Councils web-page: http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/writing-purpose/essays.
•Video Presentation should be 5 minutes maximum
