Europe in my city - Tbilisi Competitive advantages-2010

“The Open Days” will be held for the eighth time in Brussels between 4 and 7 of October, 2010, that will unite around 6000 participants.

Around 130 seminars, workshops, debates, exhibitions will take place, where representatives from 244 region and city, 30 private companies, banks, associations and academic organisations throughout Europe will participate.

Besides, another 260 local event will be organised all over Europe by the event partners between September and November 2010.

Concrete themes have been defined by “Europe’s Open days 2010” organizers, that accentuates three directions:
•    Competitiveness
•    Co-operation
•    Cohesion

First time this year Tbilisi expressed its readyness to take participation in “Europe’s Open Days 2010”. In October 20, 2010 in the frames of Open Days local event named “Europe in my city: Tbilisi Competitive Advantages” will be held.

Coming out from the determined priorities of the Open Days 2010, the leading theme of the discussion will be “Competitiveness”.

In the frames of the event, students from universities operating in Tbilisi will be granted the opportunity to get involved in productive and cooperative discussion at round table, to present their standpoints and recommendations in relation with competitive advantages of Tbilisi in Europe.

The presenters will concentrate on the following issues:
•    Functions of Tbilisi as a part of Europe
•    Finding niche of Tbilisi at international arena
•    Defining competitors/partners of Tbilisi City

Participants should provide their presentations in Power Point. Presentations can be prepared in English and Georgian languages and its length must not exceed 7 minutes.

Tbilisi City will host the round table. Discussion will be led by the representatives from the Tbilisi City Hall, State Ministry of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and EU Delegation to Georgia.

At the end of round table students will be awarded with certificates for participation and their work/presentations will be posted on “Europe’s Open Days 2010” website.
