Contest on Foreign Policy & Security of Georgia

Levan Mikeladze Foundation announces a contest for the best policy papers dedicated to the issues of foreign policy and national security of Georgia.

The contest is open to all citizens of Georgia studying at the accredited universities of Georgia or other countries (MA or BA students).

For participation in the contest, students must submit their papers to the foundation via the following e-mail address: lmf.papers@gmail.com no later than December 25, 2011. The paper must be sent with copy of ID card and title of faculty and higher education institution as well.

The paper must be set up in Georgian language and contain max 4000 words including annexes and footnotes with indication of the bibliography.

The paper must contain the following items: resume; introduction, problem description, ways of problem solution (alternatives), recommendations, conclusion, annex (bibliography).

Paper Assessment

Paper Assessment Criteria:

  • Analytical Thinking Ability
  • Ability to strengthen the arguments
  • Structure Definition
  • Quality and Diversity of Applied Literature
  • Academic Writing Culture
  • Paper Decorating

In case of plagiarism, the student will be rejected and incapable to take part in similar activities organized by the foundation.

The papers will be evaluated by the contest commission under the Levan Mikeladze Foundation.

Awarding

The author of the best paper will be granted by the charter and money prize (500 Laris). The other two winners will get charters and 250 laris. If the papers do not meet the requirements of the commission, the foundation serves its right not to grant them with charters and awards. 

The foundation will organize a ceremony where the winners will be given a chance to represent their papers to the invited experts and students. Afterwards, the discussions will be made around the mentioned topics. The ceremony will be screened by media outlets.

The winner papers will be placed on the web-page of the foundation.
