Certificate Programs in Tourism

Ilia State University the Centre for Tourism Management at the Business School is announcing call for the following certificate programs:
The main topics of the program are:
- Viticulture, getting acquainted with micro zones and special places of Georgian viticulture;
- Wine tour guide;
- Vine culture in Georgia and the perspectives of its development;
- Georgian traditional viticulture and the traditions of pitcher wine;
- Factory (classic) wine;
- Theoretical and practical aspects of wine testing, wine aromas;
- World’s viticulture;
- Wine tourism in Georgia etc.
In case of finishing the program successfully certificates of Ilia State University will be given.
The duration of the course: two and a half months, 4 hours per week.
The cost: 455 Gel; 375 Gel (for Ilia State University Students).
2. Tourism of cultural resources and heritage
The main topics of the program are:
- Cultural heritage, its forms and the ways of management;
- Guide of cultural tour and museum;
- International law about cultural heritage;
- Tourism of cultural recourses and heritage – risks and prevention of risks; nonmaterial heritage and the possibilities of their usage in the development of tourism.
- Museum and its importance (museum characteristics and accompanying products); museum collections, exhibitions, interpretation, communication and programs; cultural events, festivals and markets;
- Folk celebrations, customs and events; works of folk art and culinary as economic and social recourses; festivals, biennales, religious and pilgrim events as a tourist recourses etc.
In case of finishing the program successfully certificates of Ilia State University will be given.
The duration of the course: three months, 6 hours per week.
The cost: 455 Gel; 375 Gel (for Ilia State University Students).
The main topics of the program are:
- The basics of planning and managing the tour
- Cultural tour
- Wine tour
- Adventure and campaign tour
- General abilities and habits of the tour guide
- Practical teaching.
In case of finishing the program successfully certificates of Ilia State University will be given.
The duration of the course: three months, 6 hours per week.
The cost: 455 Gel; 375 Gel (for Ilia State University Students).
The main topics of the program are:
- Hotels specialization and classification as a prerequisite for forming the hotel product;
- Organizational structure of the hotel
- Leadership and leadership style. The management approaches of the general manager of the hotel;
- Functions of food and beverage departments and the characteristics of their work.
- The policy of human recourses management in the hotels;
- Functioning of marketing and sales departments of the hotel etc.
The course is implemented by Ilia State University and “Global Star” hotels classification association together on the basis of the memorandum;
In case of finishing the program successfully the joint certificates of Ilia State University and “Global Star” will be given.
The duration of the course: three months, 6 hours per week.
The cost: 580 Gel; 375 Gel (for Ilia State University Students).
